Installation Requirements for the Online Rewards web part
The web part uses Achievement points which are transferred automatically from the SIMS Behaviour Management module to the Active Directory records of the students. Data is extracted using procedures wholly compliant with Capita's guidelines for accessing data from SIMS.net.
The web part does not rely on SIMS Learning Gateway being installed on your site. Data is taken directly from SIMS.Net and displayed in the web part.
The Online Rewards package comprises the Online Rewards web part which you can install on your server and then insert on the page(s) of your choice and configure in situ. It also includes a batch program which transfers the achievement points from SIMS to the Active Directory student records from where the web part will pick them up.
As the system requires student admission numbers to be present in each student AD record you may also require a second batch tool 'AdmissionNumberTransfer' to automatically populate your AD records with Admission Numbers of students from their SIMS records. This tool is sold separately (£125.00), as it requires some customisation by the kraal to suit your environment - and we will gather some information from you for this on purchase.
You will also receive a detailed user guide to help you install the web part and run the batch tool(s), with guidance on how to run the batch tools as scheduled programs overnight if required. E-mail support is available to help with the initial installation if required.
You will be asked for some information relating to your system so that the appropriate programs can be customised to suit your network environment.
